The Villas at St. James is a private pay community. This means that while we do not accept public aid or Medicaid, we do accept two readily available forms of financial assistance—the Veterans Aid & Attendance Pension and long-term or assisted-living care insurance.

 

Veterans Aid and Attendence Pension

The Veterans Administration Aid and Attendance benefit is not a new benefit. It has, in fact, been an entitlement for 60 years, sitting idle while millions have and are still missing out on assisted-living care!

The Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension may pay veterans and/or their spouses and dependents a certain monthly amount based on their need(s). The A&A Pension can provide up to $1,632 per month to a veteran, $1,055 per month to a surviving spouse or $1,949 per month to couples. The details of the pension can be confusing. After researching online, your best bet is to contact our local Aid & Attendance expert, Tom Sabo. Tom is a Veterans Service Officer employed by our local Department of Veterans Affairs, and it is his job to assist veterans and help them get the benefits they've earned and deserve.
